Newborn Photography near Exeter
If you're here, it's likely you're expecting a beautiful baby boy or girl soon. If that's so, congratulations! I'm guessing you're looking for the best newborn photographer to capture those first moments of your baby's life.
I adore photography and have been a newborn photographer based in and around Exeter since 2013, and honestly, I never tire of it. Here they are, these beautiful squishy little creatures that you've been patiently waiting for. You knew they'd be small, but somehow it's hard to comprehend quite how tiny they are. They're so perfectly formed, from their fluffy hair to every little crease and dimple.
As an Exeter newborn photographer, I think it's always best to photograph your new baby in the simplest way possible. I want them to be relaxed and comfortable, and for you, as parents, to feel that your baby is in safe hands. I take newborn safety incredible seriously, and throughout your newborn session will make sure your baby's happiness is always my top priority.
Also, I'm aware that you as parents may be tired and anxious: the studio gives you a space to relax too. You can sit on my big comfy sofa with a hot cup of tea and some lunch while I work my magic! My newborn sessions are rarely over two hours, and the time is mostly spent with feeding or cuddles! The sessions adapt to your newborn, and if they're awake then we keep going.
I am a multi award winning family photographer based in Newton Abbot, just 20 minutes away from Exeter and 30 minutes from Plymouth. I have a beautiful, big, airy studio with lots of lovely natural light, and plenty of space. It's the studio I always dreamed of having from the moment I became a photographer.
If you have older children, they are more than welcome in every newborn photo shoot, as well as you and your partner. Don't worry about big brothers and sisters getting bored or running around: you'll be able to play with them, feed them, even go for a walk around if you'd like. My studio is above a cafe that is perfect for the whole family, so if you wanted to nip out to get some lunch and then come back, that's also totally fine with me! It really is your time to enjoy.
"We are so happy with our gallery. You were such a natural with Teddy, we felt so relaxed and you can totally tell in our photos! I can't believe you even managed to get a photo of ME that I love, are you a photographer or a magician?! Thank you, we will definitely be back when he's older."

About Newborn Photography Sessions
Before Your Session
Most people like to book their session around the time of their 20 week scan. We obviously don't know exactly when your little one will arrive: so by booking, you can guarantee that whenever they make their appearance, I can fit you in.
When your baby arrives, get in touch and I'll confirm your session on a day that suits you. Ideally, I like to book in your session on a weekday when your baby is 10-18 days old, but there's no strict rules: so don't worry if you're not feeling up to leaving the house so soon!
During Your Session
You won't need to worry about anything. There are no rules about when you feed them, or what you bring. I ask you to bring along a plain vest or baby grow if you have one, and just their usual milk or dummy. Some people like to bring along a special toy, outfit or blanket for their session, but you don't need to unless you want to.
During your session, you'll mostly be able to sit back and relax: unless you're having your photo taken or feeding your baby!
After Your Session
I'll email you the full proofs of your newborn gallery. These will be partly-edited images for you to select your favourites from. At this point, you can choose your packages from the comfort of your own home. I try to make all of my packages all-inclusive to take out any tricky decisions!
Your images will be ready for you to download a few days later: and are yours to keep, print and treasure forever. Every package comes with prints (of your choice), and I also offer a range of beautiful, hand-framed wall art options too.
To get some beautiful, natural images of your bump, I also offer maternity photography.
If you're here, you were probably looking for a Newborn Photographer in Devon Newton Abbot, Newborn Photography Exeter, or Newborn Photography Devon
I also cover Plymouth and around the UK as a photographer of all ages.
FAQs
When should newborn photography be taken?
Ideally, newborn photography should take place before your baby is three weeks old. However, I understand that this isn't always possible and so I can do your newborn photographs later than that.
How much does newborn photography cost?
Prices vary hugely from photographer to photographer, so to avoid confusion I offer packages that are fully inclusive, including your session, edited digital images and some prints. I offer two packages: with and without large wall art. I don't like the 'hard sell' or complex packages: so this works just right for me. To see my prices, click here.
How do I find a good newborn photographer?
The right photographer for you is the one who's style you love. If you love photography that is relaxed, unposed and simple: I may be just the person you need.
